Big Bend National Park Photo

Big Bend National Park, a place I have always wanted to visit, but never made it until now. Initially I planned the trip in coincide with the bluebonnets which was blooming right now. The bluebonnets was not very stellar as there are only a few small patches on the side of the road and they looked very miniature compared to the shrubs, cactus, and many high mountains. However, the majestic views of the mountains definitely made up for lack of bluebonnets.

Here is one of few photos that I photographed at Big Bend National Park in West Texas. Fortunately, it only took me 3 tries to finally capture this scene of Balanced Rock in the Grapevine Hills Road Trail located in the central area of Big Bend National Park. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and hike to this trail that was flat most of the way through the canyon bottom and the last quarter mile of scrambling up through the loose rocks.
