Photographs of Oklahoma Landscape

It feels great to have a career as a landscape photographer that is very much a male-dominated industry. To be able to compete relatively is a big accomplishment for me as I do everything in house (I.E. I’m the photographer, Database Admin, Web Developer, SEO Analysis, a mediocre Marketer, and no Stock Agency representing me), however, safely is always in the back of my mind. I am often in remote areas late at night or very early in the morning so that is always a concern for me. If going alone, I will sometimes bring one of my yellow Labradors, Baxter, who is friendly, but is very protective of me. In this case, it worked out too well as my mission to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma was to see the Rocky Mountains Elks during the mating season. After photographing this scenic lake deep in the refuge and waiting and hoping for a nice sunset, I drove down to the campsite late at night. To my surprise while driving back I found an Elk, two deer, and a herd of Long Horns on the road and of course Baxter’s hair stood up and he immediately bark relentlessly. Right away, I knew he would not be able to go with me to look for the Elks in the morning so I headed home. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this photo.
