A wise person once told me, “you never know if you don’t go”. And that is certainty the truth about capturing this photograph. The day started out very bleak with heavy bank clouds looming and wind gusting up to 40 mph. I didn’t think there would be much of a nice sunset, but I had to at least be there in case it did. I think it payoff! This is one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen in a long time! Photography has taught me a lot: patience being one of the more important rules.

This was shot at the peak of the fall colors in Flatside Pinnacle in Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas. Read my other post about Arkansas landscape and fall colors.
