2014 Spring in Texas

Here is an intimate photo of the bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes as they are often seen growing together in a lot of areas in Texas. Alone these Texas wildflowers are quite beautiful, but paired together they are quite a showstopper.

Bluebonnets in Big Bend National Park

Bluebonnets in Big Bend National Park

Rumored has it that the bluebonnets are blooming in the Big Bend area. I am excited that Spring is just around the corner and to see our state flower blooming throughout the region. The bluebonnets in the Big Bend area are much bigger in height and can grow up to 3′-4′ high. The wildflowers in the Trans-Pecos area of Big Bend are not quite as dense as the other regions in Texas, but still are gorgeous to see thriving among the mountains.

This bluebonnet photo was photographed in Big Bend National Park on 3/30/13.

Licensing Images for Calendars

I licensed quite a few images, but it’s very rare to see my photos in a finished product. Yesterday, I received a pleasant surprise from one of my clients with 3 of my images that was licensed for the 2014 calendar. It’s always an honored too as my images are among a few selected with some amazing and talented photographers that I inspired such as Kevin McNeal, Sean Bagshaw, Elizabeth Carmel, and more.

Texas Panhandles Landscape Photo

Located in the Texas Panhandle, this almost 14,000 acre park is perhaps one of the most underrated parks in Texas. Caprock Canyons State Park offers breathtaking scenery with steep cliffs and soaring red vistas, amazing wildlife, 65-mile hiking, biking, horseback trails, and lots of history. I can’t wait to go back and explore a lot more of this hidden gem.

The cypress tree’ roots in the Texas Hill Country are unrivaled of any trees I have seen and topped with some rushing water, it is quite peaceful. This was photographed in Blanco River in Wimberley, Texas, a very quaint little town tucked in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.

I wanted to apologize for my absentee. Personal life got in the way along with the heat outside; it just has been difficult to get any creative juices flowing. Hopefully, as the weather cools down some I can get outdoors and enjoy nature and the outdoors. Here is a recent Texas nature scenery photo photograph after a storm with some desperately needed rain in Parker County. Along with hay bales, you can see in the background some horses grazing in this very picturesque photo with a hint of the rainbow in the sky a common scene you can find as you drive the back roads of Texas (minus the rainbow of course).

I’ve been a little bit absence and pre-occupied with all the new changes in my life, but I hope to get back to the swings of things again soon. Here is a recent photo of a sunflower field. I’m reminded that no matter where you live, there is a beauty among us everywhere you look. Enjoy and share!
